Zermatt is a wonderful place to visit at any time of year, but it is especially charming in the snow. Snow on the roof of a building adds a certain chocolate box appearance to the place. The photo’s are the morning after a snowsotrm around easter time, so there is the bonus of lovely light, and reflective snow.
The crisp, clean, cold air adds a certain vibrancy to the visit. It is always worth looking up some of the side streets, as the buildings more accurately reflect the character of the town than the main street. There are some lovely old wooden buildings, mostly renovated these days, which just call out for a photostop.
It is also worth going around the back of the church to pay your respects at the graves of the climbers killed on the mountains.
